beehiiv’s New Plans for Digital Product Sellers: Free, Lite and Pro Explained (October 2026)

PLR ExpertReviews

beehiiv started as a newsletter platform, but it now lets you sell digital downloads too. On October 1, 2026, it also renamed and repriced its plans. Here’s a quick overview for PLR and digital product sellers, based on beehiiv’s own pages as of October 2026. We haven’t tested it ourselves.

The new plans

beehiiv’s old Launch, Scale and Max plans are now called Free, Lite and Pro. Starting prices, at the 1,000-subscriber level, are:

  • Free: $0, for up to 2,500 subscribers.
  • Lite: $49 per month billed yearly, or $59 month to month.
  • Pro: $95 per month billed yearly, or $109 month to month.
  • Enterprise: custom pricing.

Prices rise as your list grows. Coverage of the change reports that existing customers keep their old rates until their first renewal on or after November 1, 2026.

Selling digital products

According to beehiiv, you can sell downloads like PDFs, guides, templates, ebooks and worksheets, with instant access after purchase. File and link products are available on every plan, including Free. Its help center lists accepted file types including PDF, ZIP, common image formats, MP3 and MP4. Products can be free or paid. “Pay what you want” pricing isn’t supported.

beehiiv says it takes 0% of your digital product and paid subscription revenue. You connect your own Stripe account, and Stripe’s standard 2.9% plus $0.30 per transaction applies.

Other features worth knowing

  • Paid newsletter subscriptions are on Lite and Pro, not Free.
  • The referral program and ad network are available on paid plans.
  • Landing pages and a website are included on Free.
  • Coaching and webinar products need Pro or Enterprise.
  • There’s a 14-day free trial of paid features.

Pros and cons

  • Pros: no platform cut on sales, digital products on the free plan, and your list and store in one place.
  • Cons: fewer checkout extras than dedicated stores (no pay-what-you-want), prices that climb with list size, and a recent price increase for many tiers.

Who it suits

beehiiv makes the most sense if your newsletter is the center of your business and you want to sell a few downloads to your readers without paying a platform commission. If you mainly need a storefront with bundles, upsells or marketplace traffic, a dedicated digital product platform may fit better. As always, check that your PLR license allows the way you plan to sell.
