How to Check If a PLR Pack Is Already Published Everywhere

PLR ExpertPLR Tips

One of the quickest ways to hurt a PLR product is to sell something that is already everywhere. Before you list a pack, spend ten minutes checking how widely its text is already published.

Why it matters

Google’s spam policies describe scraping as republishing other people’s content without adding original value, including making slight edits such as swapping synonyms. The same policies list stitching together content from other pages without adding value as a form of scaled content abuse. A PLR article posted unchanged on your blog can look like exactly that. A near-identical product can also be hard to stand out with in a marketplace.

A 10-minute uniqueness check

  1. Pick three sentences. Choose distinctive lines from the introduction, the middle and the conclusion of the PLR file.
  2. Search them in quotation marks. Google’s help page says to put words in quotation marks to search for an exact phrase. Matches show where that exact text is already published.
  3. Limit the search to one site. Add site: followed by a domain, with no space after the colon, to check a specific marketplace or blog network.
  4. Search the title and description. Look at the product title and the main promise. If ten shops sell the same thing under the same name, you need a different angle.
  5. Note what you find. Save the date and results in your license log, so you know you checked.

If you find matches

A few matches on a stock article aren’t unusual with PLR. What counts is how much of the finished product would be identical. If most of it is, rewrite sections in your own voice, add your own examples, reorganize the structure, and cut parts that don’t serve your audience. Light rewording alone is not the goal.

Also check the license. Some licenses limit how many copies exist or require that you don’t publish the text unchanged. Our guide to limited-license PLR covers why those caps matter. Your license terms always come first.

Make it a habit

Run the check before you buy as well as before you list. A pack that is already widely published will take more work to turn into something original, and that is worth knowing before you pay.

This is general information. Read the actual license terms for any PLR you use, and ask a professional about legal questions.
