Whop for Digital Product Sellers: Fees, Features and Fit for PLR (October 2026)

PLR ExpertReviews

Whop is a storefront for memberships, courses and downloadable files. If you sell rebranded PLR or your own digital products, here’s what Whop’s official pages and docs say about fees, features and content rules. We haven’t tested it; this overview relies only on Whop’s published information.

Fees as of October 2026

Whop’s fees page lists card and wallet processing at 2.7% + $0.30 per successful domestic transaction. International cards add 1.5%, and currency conversion adds another 1%.

  • Optional add-ons: orchestration (0.8%), billing (0.5%) and tax and remittance (2%, only when tax is collected) stack on top of the base rate. With all of them on, a domestic card sale costs 6% + $0.30.
  • Buy now, pay later: 15% per transaction through financing partners.
  • Payouts: $2.50 for next-day US ACH, 4% + $2.50 for instant bank deposit where supported, and $23 for a US wire.

Whop’s seller guide says there’s no sign-up fee. The fees page doesn’t list a separate marketplace fee, so check your dashboard before you count on a particular margin.

Features for digital product sellers

Files and memberships

Whop’s Files app is a hosted folder for members. According to Whop, it handles formats from PDFs to MP4s. You pick which products unlock it, and you can switch off downloading for individual files so members can preview them but not save them. Products can be sold as one-time payments or as subscriptions, which suits a PLR bundle or a monthly content club.

Discover and affiliates

Stores can apply to appear on Whop Discover once they finish the setup checklist. Global affiliates are on by default, so affiliates across Whop’s network can promote a listed product for a default 30% commission, which you can change.

Payouts

To withdraw, you complete identity verification, link a bank account and upload ID. You can pick an instant, daily or weekly schedule, depending on your account. Whop says the minimum withdrawal is $10, and it holds back a balance you choose to cover refunds and disputes.

What Whop’s rules say about PLR

Whop’s prohibited-products policy doesn’t mention PLR, resale rights or master resell rights by name. It does ban unauthorized copies, anything that infringes intellectual property, and copyrighted material distributed without permission. Whop may pause payouts and request proof when it can’t verify what a merchant sells, so keep your license terms handy. This is general information, not legal advice.

For “make money” products, Whop requires earnings claims to be accurate, substantiated and in line with FTC guidelines, and testimonials have to reflect realistic results. Whop also bans promises of “lifetime” access, so you have to state the access period.

Pros and cons

  • Pro: No sign-up fee, and processing and payout fees are published openly.
  • Pro: Files, subscriptions, a marketplace and an affiliate network all come in one platform.
  • Con: Add-on, international and payout fees can push the real cost well above the base rate.
  • Con: Selling unclear-rights PLR or making income-heavy claims can get you flagged and your payouts paused.

Who it suits

Whop makes the most sense for sellers who own clear rights to their material and want recurring memberships or affiliate reach. If you only sell one-off downloads, compare the total per-sale cost with simpler checkout tools before you switch.
