Ideogram has released Ideogram 4.5, an image model built for precise, repeated edits. Recraft, which plans to add the model to its own studio, reported the release on October 1, 2026.
For anyone who sells printables, templates, covers or mockups, the pitch is simple: change one part of an image without slowly degrading everything else.
What Ideogram says it does
Many image tools add small color shifts, pixel changes and texture artifacts each time you edit. After several rounds, the image can look noticeably worse. Ideogram says version 4.5 removes that buildup, so multi-turn editing stays clean.
According to Ideogram’s model page, it offers:
- Native 2K resolution with four quality modes.
- Edits on large source images, including a 24.2-megapixel example, where an edited crop is stitched back into the original.
- Edit types such as color and lighting changes, text changes, product photos, photo restoration, sketch-to-image and style references.
It’s available in the Ideogram app, through MCP and through the API. Ideogram’s comparisons with other models are its own tests, and we haven’t tried the model ourselves.
Where it could help product creators
- Updating the text on a cover or printable without regenerating the whole design.
- Making color variations of a template or product mockup.
- Cleaning up images bundled in a PLR pack, if the license allows you to modify them.
That last point matters. Many PLR packs restrict how included graphics can be changed or resold, so check the license first.
Costs as of October 2026
On the API, Ideogram lists fixed per-image prices for 4.5 that don’t depend on prompt length. Precise edits cost $0.008 at the lowest quality, $0.03 at low, $0.06 at medium and $0.22 at high.
In the app, Ideogram’s plans include Plus at $20 a month ($15 a month billed yearly), Pro at $60 a month ($42 billed yearly), and Team at $30 per user per month. Pay-as-you-go credits cost 1¢ each.
Licensing and privacy
Ideogram’s terms say it doesn’t claim ownership of your outputs and that you may use them for your own purposes, including commercial ones. The terms also warn that outputs may not be unique, since other users can create similar images, and that you’re responsible for any third-party permissions.
Ideogram’s help center says images made on the free plan are public. Paid plans keep images private unless you publish them. If you’re designing products to sell, that difference is worth paying attention to.
This is general information, not legal advice. Adding your own design work on top of AI images also makes a product more distinctly yours.
